My Polyphasic Sleep Experiment
I was intrigued when Steve Pavlina talked about Polyphasic Sleep before and I recently came across PureDoxyk who has been Polyphasic for a long time now. I am working from home for the next couple of months with only a couple of trips to the client, so I have unprecedented control of my daily schedule and have decided to try to adjust my sleep patterns.
I have taken some of the notes that I have gleaned off of PureDoxyk’s site and come up with the following sleep and adjustment schedule:
If all goes well, I should be fully Polyphasic by July 21st. I will log my progress, results and and adjustments that I make to my plan. I have a lot of things going on in my personal life right now that could affect this experiment, but if I wait until the absolute right time to make the adjustment, I may be at a client site again and then the adjustment would not be easy because of scheduling.
I officially start tomorrow and the adjustment is so minor that I think the hardest part will be the nap in the afternoon. I am not a nap taker, so this may be the hardest part to enforce. I have also arranged my exercise times to after sleep because I was warned that exercising before a nap could cause the nap to run over because of fatigue.
